In which I learn that almost everything I did before with knives was wrong:
I already loved The Brooklyn Kitchen as a store and after I attended one of their friendly book clubs I signed up for their Knife Skills class and borrowed a set of WÜSTHOF from a much more accomplished friend.
Despite laughing almost the whole time about my lack of knowledge and tendency to do the things in the exact most-un-safe way, I was able to learn quite a bit from Kate in just a short amount of time.
It was the easiest time I’d ever chopped an onion, so that makes, I don’t know, maybe the 10th?
And I left with all of my fingers intact too, a given for some, but I must say, impressive for me.
