What a day we had Sunday at Monroe Center for the Arts in Hoboken, New Jersey: six hours of free classes, workshops and demonstrations! I’m a big fan of learning new techniques like: knife skills, jewelry making, ballet, sewing and more.
Very impressed with the array of in-house artists in residence and the facility itself: so many beautiful sun-filled rooms lined with windows.
There are also many wonderful programs available specifically for children.
At the Atelier of Little Picasso we met artist Daehyuk Sim and these are his lifelike paintings, plus I had to take a pic of his pink typewriter.
So much creativity from little ones…
I spent about two and a half hours listening to Craig Dale from Beyond the Photograph and learned so much in just that time.
I was glad to meet the team from ArteVino Studio and I’d love to take classes and host events there.
M Avery Designs LLC has a Fashion Lab and Sewing & Fashion Design classes.
And we had the privilege of meeting jeweler Elizabeth Ann Tokoly of Eat Metal, Inc. who gave us a fiery demo and shaped an intricately carved metal piece for a pair of earrings.
Loved our floral design workshop with Event Designer Laura Clare.
We got to take home our arrangements of roses, gerbera daisies, snapdragon, waxflower, stock and salal (lemon leaf) and mine is still doing very well in my sunny window.
